Analysis of clients needs in low-threshold drop-in center SANANIM: Questionnaire survey

Background: Human needs encompass a spectrum ranging from fundamental physiological requirements, such as breathing and sustenance, to elevated needs like love and appreciation. While most individuals fulfill these needs through typical social interactions, certain groups, including those engaging in illicit drug use, seek assistance from institutions such as the SANANIM contact centre. The objective of this thesis is to ascertain the perceived needs of clients at the facility and evaluate the extent to which these needs are being addressed. These insights can contribute to enhancing existing services and introducing new ones where necessary. Another objective is to formulate a unique questionnaire suitable for consistently assessing the requirements of the facility's clientele. Methods: The instrument of data production was an original questionnaire, created specifically for the research, which was filled in with the respondent by the interviewer - PAPI (Pen and Paper Interviewing). Research Sample: The study involved 60 clients of the low-threshold center SANANIM who utilize the services provided by this facility. Evaluation of client satisfaction with the Managed Alcohol Program of the Drop-in center Vlhká

Drop-in center Vlhká, operated by the organization Podané ruce, implements the Managed Alcohol Program as the only organization in the Czech Republic, inspired by similar programs abroad. In this work, I utilize satisfaction evaluation as a research method with the intention of providing clients an opportunity to express their views on the program and the operation of this center. The aim of the research was to conduct a satisfaction survey among clients of the Drop-in center Vlhká, involved in the Managed Alcohol Program. The objective was to evaluate clients' satisfaction with this program, as well as other interventions provided by the center, the approach of the staff, the environment, facilities, and opening hours. The intention was to provide the results of the work to the service management as a potential inspiration for further changes and development, as well as feedback on the changes that have already been implemented. The research sample consisted of 17 respondents, clients of the Drop-in center Vlhká, participating in the Managed Alcohol Program, who correspond to the target group of the service. Community rejection of low threshold services for drug users in Prague

This paper focuses on the topic of low-threshold centers for drug users in the context of NIMBY attitudes, which refers to the resistance of local communities to the placement of these centers in their neighborhoods. Prague is currently struggling with a lack of these services, which despite the urgency of the situation, remains unresolved. This paper seeks to understand the relations between NIMBY attitudes and such centers and the impact these attitudes have. It also reveals other factors that influence their operations. Finally, the paper defines the main issues of these centers and proposes possible solutions. These goals were achieved through a multiple-case study of the Drop In and Progressive centers, which involved interviews with their managers. Media research was conducted to gain insight into the situation from other parties involved. It was found that the Drop In center does not face any disturbances, while the other was closed due to disturbances by its residents that reached the political level. The main factor causing troubles was the volume of clients in the area, which disrupted peace and safety. Possibilities and limits of online streetwork with people afflicted by substance abuse disorder

The thesis Possibilities and Limits of Online Streetwork with People Afflicted by Substance Abuse Disorder deals with the providing of field social service in the online space. The aim of the work was to describe the possibilities and limits of streetwork with drug users in the online space. The theoretical part presents knowledge related to social work with a given target group, such as streetwork method, contact work, crisis intervention and harm reduction. The second chapter focuses on online work in social services itself. The practical part of the thesis presents the process and results o qualitative research realized by the method of semi-structured interviews with field social workers at social service called Jihočeský streetwork PREVENT in České Budějovice. This organization works with substance abusers and provides its service, among other things, in the online space.

Mapping of availability and structural characteristics of various types of addiction treatment and harm reduction services in Slovakia

Background: Availability of services is an important parameter of the addiction care system. In Slovakia, the network of addiction services of various types is probably not as developed as in the Czech Republic, but the availability of specialized addiction care in Slovakia has not yet been sufficiently mapped. Aims: The aim of this bachelor thesis was to map all available addiction treatment services in Slovakia and also to map the structural characteristics of various types of addiction treatment and harm reduction services in Slovakia. Methods: The research part of this theses first consisted of mapping all available addiction treatment services in Slovakia in cooperation with key informants. Subsequently, a research file was created, used in the second part of the research - in a questionnaire survey devoted to the characteristics of individual services. The obtained data were exported to the Microsoft Excel and processed into tables and charts. Application of Task-oriented and relationship-oriented leadership in streetwork with drug addicts.

This Diploma thesis deals with the possibility od use of person-centered approach in field social work in streetwork. This thesis is made on the basis of a research of relevant literature. The theoretical part describes metamfetamin and other most commonly used drugs, along with defining the target population of metamfetamin users. Furthermore, the streework and the person-centered approach are disscussed. The thesis also illustrates an alternative method of harm reduction psychotherapy, which is further decribed in a example case of a client.

The unwillingness of addictive drug users to use Contact Center services in a small Town

Contact centers in small towns register the difference in the number of addictive substances users who use the Contact center services, and in the size of the drug scene which occurs in the given locality. People do not want to be seen going to the Contact center. This diploma thesis wants to find out the main reasons which discourage addictive substances users from using the Contact center services in a small town. In the theoretical part of this work, basic terms concerning the addiction area are defined as an insight into the given issue. It also deals with the basic methods of work with addictive substances users and in more detail it deals with the individual low-threshold programs which function in the Czech Republic and use these methods.

Harm Reduction as a Pillar of the Anti-drug Policy of the Czech Republic

The writing is concerned with the anti-drug policy with a special emphasis on the harm reduction, because even nowadays it is a controversial theme. It emphasises the benefit of harm reduction services for the drug users and for the whole society and it also does not conceal the arguments of the opponents. The theoretical part briefly defines the drug policy and its pillars. The conception of harm reduction, its targets and methods of that approach are described particularly. The components of harm reduction and the appropriate providers are defined there. The conclusion of the theoretical part deals with the possibility of the provision of harm reduction services to imprisoned persons. The practical part is an excursion to the contact centre Drug Azyl in Brno, where the staff does provide the harm reduction services and has thanks to this lot of experience with them. As an illustration there are some examples of the information given to clients as a part of harm reduction. The practical part is concluded by the reflection of the stuff and the reflection of the author of the writing.

Evaluation of client satisfaction with the Sanitka project of SANANIM field programme

Background: The satisfaction evaluation is method of obtaining feedback on the services provided by the Sananim field program within the Sanitka project. It provides clients with the opportunity to "share" their experience with the program, comment on individual interventions, or express the need for a new service or intervention. Aims: The aim of the research was to find out whether the clients of the field program Sananim are satisfied with the services offered by the Sanitka project. Above all, it was about local and time availability, the main components of the sanitka project (exchange program, counseling, treatment, testing, staff access) and about identifying the weak points of the service. The research was supposed to provide information on whether the clients are satisfied with the individual interventions, whether they are missing something (and what) within the services provided, and how the services could be improved. Methods and research file: The RAR - Rapid assessment and response methodology was used to collect data. Data collection took place in the form of semi-structured interviews with 30 clients.
